Shining School Anti-Drug Task Force Training

Quoted from popnonline.org Head of Educational Information Technology and Communication Center (BTIKP) Hana Pertiwi, M.Pd attended the Shining School Anti-Drug Task Force Training (Drug Clean) at SMA Negeri 2 Palangka Raya, Monday (27/2/2023) Implementation of counseling about the dangers of drug abuse, especially for the younger generation and school-age children, and about the dangers of drug abuse into the school curriculum.

Narcotics are substances or drugs derived from plants or non-plants, both synthetic and semi-synthetic, which can cause a decrease or change in consciousness, loss of feeling, reduce to eliminate pain, and can lead to dependence. That is the definition according to Article 1 of RI Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.

The problem of acts of drug abuse is found in almost all groups, including among students in Indonesia. This was proven in a survey conducted by the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI).

In the survey, it was stated that 2.3 million students or students in Indonesia had consumed narcotics.

Drug use among students is also a problem on a global scale. The 2018 World Drugs Reports from The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) found 5.6 percent of the world’s population or 275 million people in the age range of 15 to 64 years have consumed drugs at least once.

Sadly, drug abuse among students needs extra attention. This is a real threat to the goal of strengthening national character education.

Because one of the goals of strengthening character education written in Article 2 of Presidential Regulation Number 87 of 2017 is to build and equip students as the golden generation of Indonesia in 2045, with the spirit of Pancasila and good character education to face the dynamics of change in the future.

Through strengthening religious, cultural, honest, tolerant, disciplined, hard working, creative, independent, democratic values, curiosity, national spirit, love of the motherland, respect for achievement, communicative, love peace, love to read, care for the environment, care social and responsible.

With the issuance of the President (Inpres) Number 2 of 2020 concerning the National Action Plan for the Prevention and Eradication of the Abuse and Illicit Traffic of Narcotics and Narcotics Precursors (P4GN), which applies to all ministries, agencies up to the regions, it increasingly shows that INDONESIA IS IN A DRUG EMERGENCY. Because the death rate in Indonesia currently ranges from 40 to 50 people. Every year, more than 15 thousand people die because of the misuse of these illicit goods.

Counseling How Dangerous Drug Use is

In connection with counseling about narcotics, schools are advised to carry out several activities such as cooperating with the National Narcotics Agency, Police, TNI and involving anti-narcotics agencies so that they go down to schools to hold counseling about the dangers of narcotics abuse on a regular and ongoing basis.

Provision of information or appeals about efforts to minimize drug abuse such as posters, videos, school bulletins and competitions between schools by writing about the dangers of drugs.

To provide a deterrent effect, the school needs to periodically conduct urine tests on teachers and students in collaboration with the authorities. If cases of drug use are found that are not fair, then the school needs to take firm action.

Head of the Education Information Technology and Communication Center for Central Kalimantan Provincial Education Office Hana Pertiwi, M.Pd Appeals to parents or guardians of students to increase supervision of students wherever they are.
